Safeguarding Policy

Vextro Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every student who uses our platform. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and tutors engaged by Vextro Education Ltd.

1. Our commitment

• Every student has the right to learn in a safe, respectful environment.
• All concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly.
• Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, not solely the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

2. Tutor vetting

All Vextro tutors must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate before delivering any session. We verify identity documents, qualifications, and obtain professional references. Tutors complete mandatory safeguarding training during onboarding and refresh annually.

3. Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Our DSL is responsible for managing safeguarding cases, liaising with local authorities, and overseeing tutor compliance. They can be reached at safeguarding@vextroeducation.com.

4. Reporting a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern about a student or tutor, please contact the DSL immediately. In an emergency or if a child is at immediate risk of harm, call 999 or your local children's social care team. Reports can be made anonymously.

5. Online safety

• All tutoring sessions take place on monitored video platforms.
• Sessions may be recorded for safeguarding and quality-assurance purposes, with consent obtained at sign-up.
• One-to-one communication between tutors and students outside the platform is prohibited.
• All in-platform messaging is logged and reviewable by safeguarding staff.

6. Information sharing

We share safeguarding information with statutory agencies where required by law or where not doing so would place a child at risk. Personal data shared in this context is proportionate and minimal.

7. Training and review

Our safeguarding procedures are reviewed annually and after any significant incident. All tutors complete annual refresher training as a condition of continued engagement.

8. Whistleblowing

Staff and tutors are encouraged to raise concerns about safeguarding practices without fear of reprisal. The whistleblowing channel is whistleblowing@vextroeducation.com.
